Wawi Navarroza Makes Art & Music from Stories in Her Head
by Eric Caruncho

EXCERPTS:
"Navarroza’s pictures seek to lend form and substance to more elusive inner states. One of her exhibits, for instance, titled “Polysaccharide: The Dollhouse Drama,” consisted of luminescent black-and-white prints depicting a sequence of dream-like images that draw the attuned viewer in, like a portal to a parallel dimension, or a doorway leading into the artist’s headspace."

"Wawi Navarroza is an innovative photographer, a singer with a cult band, and a fashionista with a distinctive style. Yet this multitalented young woman is still at her most creative as a solitary soul in the playground of her imagination."
